Looking for a good quick bite after work? I highly recommend you visit The Athenian. To celebrate the national Greek holiday, Panagia’s Day Greek street food specialists they are offering BOGOF on all souvlaki and gyros wraps.

What is souvlaki?

Ask any Greek and they will be sure to tell you that souvlaki is their nation’s favourite food to eat on the go. A quick, healthier alternative to fast food, it consists of a pita wrap filled with grilled meat  – or cheese as a vegetarian alternative & mushrooms as a vegan one – and served in a way we love. The name souvlaki comes from a medieval word, meaning ‘little skewer’, after the cooking method.

Since 2014, The Athenian has been changing perceptions of contemporary Greek cuisine in the UK with its authentic street food and delicious souvlaki. To celebrate one of Greece’s most significant national holidays, The Athenian will be offering guests the chance to buy their signature souvlaki or gyros and get another completely free.

They are also introducing to Londoner’s a collection of exciting brands created in microbreweries from around mainland Greece and the surrounding Greek islands. Highlights include Argo, a refreshing craft beer coming from the microbrewery in the city of Volos in Central Greece, and fresh Chios beer from the heart of the Aegean.

Staying true to the sentiments of joyous Greek festivities, long tables and benches create a relaxed dining experience in which guests are encouraged to chat and eat plenty – an authentic Mediterranean feast which will transport you to Greece this summer.
