Burger & Lobster x Giz ’n’ Green

Burger & Lobster began on a London rooftop in 2011. That’s where four old schoolmates were chatting and hit on a great idea: a restaurant where the focus was just two ingredients – a burger, a lobster – just done well.
Like so many great ideas, it’s a simple one. So simple that, for some time, the concept not only gave them the restaurant name, but the restaurant name was, effectively, the menu.
That was then, however, and this is now. Over the last decade, the simple, delicious appeal of Burger & Lobster saw the idea spread from a former Irish pub in Mayfair to nine London locations and restaurants in New York, Bangkok, Genting Highlands, Kuwait and Singapore.
And, as Burger & Lobster’s fame has grown, so has the menu. Burgers and lobsters are still the hero ingredients. Still, they’ve been joined by other beef and seafood dishes, using premium ingredients such as yellowfin tuna, Devon crab and oysters – and a vegan option.
While the menu has changed, the Burger & Lobster philosophy remains resolutely the same, and the provenance and quality of their beef and Lobster (and every other ingredient) is at the heart of all they do. Burger & Lobster’s Head of Kitchen Operations, Kenneth Tyrrell, oversees everything from the farm – and trawler – to table.
Exciting news coming up this Autumn as Burger & Lobster, have teamed up with Giz ‘n’ Green, aka awardwinning food writer, restaurateur and chef, Gizzi Erskine and world-class musician Professor Green, to bring you a limited-edition, wild Atlantic lobster dish of dreams.
Created in partnership with Burger & Lobster’s talented chefs, the celebrated food duo’s Sleezey’n’Bisquey Mac & Cheese (£25) is an elevated and unashamedly indulgent take on the classic creamy macaroni and cheese. Starring succulent meat from half a lobster – claws and all – sustainably sourced from the coasts of Nova Scotia, Canada; a rich, boozy lobster bisque-infused cheese sauce; and fresh tarragon, all loaded into a lobster shell and encrusted with a Gruyere and garlic breadcrumbed top. This is comfort food turned up a gear and the pinnacle of mac & cheese excellence.
The decadent dish, served alongside a seasonal side salad, weighs in at £25, with £1 from each dish donated to RISE.365, a charity close to Gizzi and Stephen, which focuses on supporting, educating and empowering young adults and community members in Hackney.
The Sleezey’n’Bisquey Mac & Cheese will be available exclusively at all nine Burger & Lobster restaurant locations from Monday 4th October – Sunday 31st October.
